I graduated in 1980 from Oaks Mission High School. I waited 10 years before I started my college training. I graduated from Northeastern State University, Tahlequah Oklahoma in 1995 with my bacholars degree. I later decided to obtain my masters degree as a Reading Specialist from Southeastern State University, Durant Oklahoma.
I began my teaching career at Antlers Elementary School where I taught 2nd Grade for 9 years. I then moved into the computer lab where I taught computer skills to Kingergarten through 5th grades. In 2014, I moved to Hugo MIddle School where I teach computer skills to 6th through 8th grades.
In 2002m I married a wonderful man, MIke Butler. We have 4 children. They are Michael, Josh, Adam and Debbie. We have 7 grandchildren. They include 5 boys and 2 girls. Four of the grandchildren go to Afton Public School. They are Tayah (10th), Morgan (9th), Nate (8th) and Chris (6th). Two other grandsons attend Locust Grove Elementary School. They are Matthew (3rd) and Nathan (1st). The remaining grandson was born September 2015.
When I am not teaching I enjoy several activities. I read often. I like sewing, scrapbooking and playing games on my iPad among many other things.
