Letters To Parents

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher and cannot wait to partner with you in making this the best year for your child. Thank you to all who were able to stop by for our Meet the Teacher event. It was a pleasure getting to meet with you!

This week and year will surely be an interesting one with many new challenges ahead. I will do my best make sure to keep my teacher webpage on the Hugo Elementary School website updated with all of the class announcements and information as much as possible. On the webpage you will find the lesson plans for the next couple of weeks to follow along with. The first week will be very vague, because we will be using that time to get to know each other and to get our routines figured out.

As a reminder, students may begin arriving at 7:20 in the mornings and can get breakfast to take with them to eat in the classroom. Class starts at 8:00 and if your child shows up after 8:10 he or she will be considered tardy. Additionally, please be sure your child and the school knows how he or she will be getting home every day. Should you ever need to change to the way your child goes home, please call the school at 580-326-8373.

Also, we will have a resource class every day. Our schedule will rotate between art, computers, P.E., library, and character ed. I will send out a weekly newsletter every week that will include the week’s resource schedule, announcements, and the curriculum that we will be working on.

If you wish, you are more than welcome to send a snack with your child each day for him, her, or the entire class. We will have a time set aside for snacks. However, we strive to be an allergy conscience classroom, so please let me know if your child has a food allergy.

Please let me know if you have any questions, comments, or concerns. I am easiest to get a hold of via email at randrews@hugoschools.com. However, you may also leave a message by calling school at 580-326-8373. I recognize the need to have strong and frequent communication with parents and will work hard to respond as quickly as possible.

Thank you,

Mrs. Andrews
